1.7.0 - Final release of 2021

The app went through some huge changes this year and I’d like to top if off with another batch of features and improvements to end the year on.

New widget

The star of the show for this release is definitely the new Multi graph widget. It will be available as part of EasyMQTT plus and allows you to display multiple graphs in one widget. On top of that it’s also highly customizable, you can set settings per graph and even combine data from multiple brokers in one widget. Here’s an example:

It’s the perfect widget to compare things like temperature, prices or other sensor values.

The widget supports all widget sizes, from small to the new (iPad only) Extra large. The large and extra large sizes show some additional information and stats.

The widgets are synced over iCloud, so after creating them once they will become available across all your devices, iPhone, iPad and even Mac!

Improvements

A large amount of improvements went into the release. Most notably, but also most hidden, the MQTT connections have been completely refactored and should now work much more reliably. You can now set custom client IDs per broker and already existing connections will be reused in the background for things like widgets or shortcuts. Chaining multiple Shortcuts together should now work more reliably and the MQTT connection won’t be lost in the middle of a session anymore.
